Ukraine: Beer, malt production decline in January-April this year

Ukraine’s beer production amounted to 5.03 mln hl in January – April 2020, 4.1% down from the same period last year, Ukrpivo reported on May 13.

The trade association does not include zero-alcohol beer in its numbers.

The nation’s malt output dropped by 11.1% to 92.2 thousand tonnes, Ukrpivo said.

In 2019, Ukraine’s brewers produced 18.02 mln hl of beer, 0.4% less than in 2018, which was the last year when the market showed an increase versus the previous year (+2.5%).
